WBJEE 2018 Exam:

  • Since 1962, the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board conducts West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE 2018) every year for admission to the undergraduate course in engineering in the state of West Bengal. 
  • The Board is working continuously for the enhancement in transparency in conducting WBJEE exam for various Undergraduate and Postgraduate level courses in the State.
  • West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE 2018) is an MCQ based common entrance examination provide admission in various UG and PG courses. 
  • The various professional undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy, Medical, Dental and Architecture in Universities, Government Colleges as well as Self Financing Engineering & Technological Institutes in the State of West Bengal.

WBJEE 2018 Important Details:

  • WBJEE is a national level examination conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board.
  • WBJEE 2018 conducts every year to offer admission in various courses in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy, and Architecture in various govt. and private colleges.
  • The application form will be available on the official websites from 2nd January 2018 till 3rd February 2018.
  • The Candidates who fill the application form are eligible to write the exam.
  • The application can only be filled online.  
  • WBJEE exam is generally taken after a student successfully completes his/ her 12th std.
  • The candidate is eligible for West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE 2018) only if the student has completed the 12th std or appearing in 12th standard in 2018 with the Science stream - which is Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and Biology along with this candidate age, domicile are also taken into consideration.
  • The syllabus provides engineering and architecture aspirants a topic-wise breakup of each section - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and Biological Science. The syllabus consists of topics from the 10+2 level examinations. The examination is pen paper-based and there will be multiple choice questions. The questions and evaluation are based on Question categories.
  • After the candidate fills the application form the admit card will be issued on 11th April 2018.
  • The candidate supposed to take the admit card to the examination hall otherwise, they are not allowed to give the exam.
  • The WBJEE Medical and WBJEE have a difference although both have similar test names.
  • For the WB JEE Medical, biology paper is given while for the WB JEE Engineering, mathematics paper is given. For West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE 2018), negative marking is applicable with 30% of the total marks being deducted for every wrong answer.

WBJEE News:

  • West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board announced the exam date for WBJEE year 2018.
  • The WBJEE 2018 exam will be held on 22nd April 2018(Sunday).
  • The application form filling process for the WBJEE 2018 will possibly start from 1st week of January 2018. 

WBJEE 2018 Result:

  • The WBJEE results will declare on 4th June 2018 on the official website.
  • Candidates can check the results on the official website by clicking on the result link and entering their roll number, birthdate, and other details.
  • The result will be displayed once the candidate clicks the submit option.
  • Admissions will be given on the basis of merit.

WBJEE 2018 Counselling:

  • The seat allotment process for the qualified candidates will begin from 18th June 2018. 
  • There are total three rounds of counseling.
  • Candidates need to register online and pay the fees online after remitting the fee.
  • Candidates have to fill their choices for their branch and institute preference.
  • The registration fee is INR 500/-.
  • There will be different stages of counseling.

WBJEE 2018 Decentralized Counselling:

  • Decentralized counseling takes place after the counseling process for seats remains vacant in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Pharmacy courses.
  • Candidates have to satisfy the eligibility criteria to get eligible for decentralized counseling.
  • Candidate's age should not be less than 17 years.
  • Candidate must pass his/her 10+2 with minimum 60% with Physics, Chemistry, and mathematics as compulsory subjects.
  • Candidates should possess good health and physique with the sound mind and should be capable of undergoing N.C.C. Training.
  • Candidate's  General Merit Rank (GMR) must be up to GMR 14000 for General candidates and All GMR for Reserved Candidates.
  • Candidates belong to reserved category can apply for ST/SC/OBC-A / OBC-B / PW D Quota.

WBJEE 2018 Jelet counseling:

  • WBJEE Jelet counseling process is for lateral entry in engineering, technology, pharmacy colleges.
  • Candidates who qualify the WBJEE JELET can apply for the seat allotment process.

WBJEE 2018 Important Dates

Important Dates Summary for WBJEE 2018 

  • From 3rd February 2018 Candidates can start registering for WBJEE 2018 exam from 2nd January 2018 
  • The candidates can register online till 3rd February 2018 and fill-up including payment and downloading confirmation page.
  • Candidates can correction their application form from February 6th 2018 to February 8th, 2018.
  • Admit card will be available from 11th April 2018 and candidates can download it online.
  • The WBJEE 2018 exam will be commenced on 22nd May 2018. 
  • WBJEE first test will be Mathematics and will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. 
  • WBJEE second test will be Physics & Chemistry and will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • On 4th June 2018 the result will be announced. 

WBJEE 2018 Eligibility

Eligibility Summary for WBJEE 2018 

  • Age Limit: Candidates need to be at least 17 years as on 31.12.2017 and not more than 25 years as on 31.07.2017 to be eligible for applying for the Engineering/Technology course (other than Marine Engineering), Pharmacy, Architecture Courses, Marine Engineering course, and Medical/Dental course.
  • Domicile Requirement: The Domicile requirement is an eligibility criterion for admission to different degree level Medical, Dental, Engineering/Technology, Pharmacy & Architecture courses in West Bengal.
  • Jadavpur University: Candidates should have a minimum of 60% marks (45% for SC/ST/PWD candidates) and must pass in English with a minimum of 30% (for all categories) in the qualifying examination. Candidates must pass 10+2 examination in the regular class mode of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent examination from a recognized Council/ Board. Candidates should have had Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. 
  • Calcutta University: Candidates should have a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PWD/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates) and must pass in English with a minimum of 30% (for all categories) in the qualifying examination.Candidates must pass 10+2 examination in the regular class mode of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent examination from a recognized Council/ Board. Candidates should have had Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
  • Department of Jute and Fibre Technology, Calcutta University: Candidates should have had Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology as compulsory subjects. Candidates must pass 10+2 examination in a regular class mode of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent examination from a recognized Council/ Board. 
  • Other Universities: Candidates should have a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/PWD/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates) and must pass in English with minimum 30% marks (for all categories) in the qualifying examination. Candidates should have a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/PWD/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates) and must pass in English with minimum 30% marks (for all categories) in the qualifying examination.Candidates must pass 10+2 examination in the regular class mode of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent examination from a recognized Council/ Board.   • Marine Engineering: Candidates should score 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in each subject and score a minimum of 50% marks in either 10 or 10+2. Candidates must pass 10+2 examination of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent examination from a recognized Council/ Board.
  • Jadavpur University: Candidates should have 60% in mathematics (45% for SC/ ST/ PWD candidates) and English with minimum 30% marks (for all category candidates) in the qualifying examination. Candidates must qualify either in NATA or in Paper 2 of JEE Mains.Candidates must have had Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Candidates should have scored 60% marks in the subjects mentioned (45% for SC/ ST/ PWD candidates).
  • The Council of Architecture:  has specified that candidates should have scored minimum 50% marks to be eligible. Candidates who have scored less than 50% marks should have passed an examination at the end of new (10+2) scheme of Senior School Certificate Examination or equivalent with Mathematics as a subject of Examination at the 10+2 level. 
  • Jadavpur University: Candidates should have 60% in mathematics (45% for SC/ ST/ PWD candidates) and English with minimum 30% (for all category candidates) in the qualifying examination. Candidates must pass 10+2 examination of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent examination from a recognized Council/ Board. Candidates should have had Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Candidates should have minimum 60% marks in the above subjects (45% for SC/ ST/ PWD candidates). 
  • Other Institutes: Candidates must pass Higher Secondary examination state board or any qualified board of examination which is recognized by the government of India with physics, chemistry, and biology as their compulsory subjects. Candidates should have scored a minimum of 45% marks in the subjects mentioned (40% for SC/ST/PWD/OBC candidates) and English with minimum 30% marks (for all category candidates) in the qualifying examination.
  • Medical/Dental Courses: Candidates should produce a medical fitness certificate during the counseling process. Medical Council of India has specified that candidates must pass Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent examination recognized by the West Bengal University of Health Sciences in regular mode with pass marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English to be eligible. Candidates must have scored 50% marks in the subjects mentioned ( 40% for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates, 45% for PWD candidates) and English English with minimum 30% marks (for all category candidates) in the qualifying examination.

WBJEE 2018 Application Process

  • From 22nd May 2018 candidates can start filling the application form
  • The official website helps candidates to access the application form.
  • Candidates have to visit the WBJEE official website and register for the exam before 3rd February 2018.
  • Candidates can choose their preferred exam center, question paper medium while filling the application form.
  • According to the university guidance, candidates should upload images of their thumb impression, signature, and photograph.
  • Candidates must click on submit button after verifying the application form.
  • Candidates have to pay the fee of INR 500/- while registering for WBJEEE 2018 exam.
  • Make a note off application transaction number and candidates and take a print out of the application.
  • Merit List will be generated after the WBJEE 2018 examination.

  • The WBJEE 2018 exam will be a pen and paper-based examination. 
  • Multiple choice questions will be provided in WBJEE 2018 exam.
  • Biological Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics will be covered in WBJEE exam.
  • From Biological Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics candidates will be having 115, 40, 40, and 75 questions respectively.
  • The question will be categorized in 3 patterns: 
  • In category 1 pattern only one option is correct. A correct option will yield 1 mark and an incorrect option will yield -1/4 (negative) marks. For any combination of more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield -¼ (negative) marks.
  • In category 2 pattern only one option is correct. A correct option will yield 2 marks and an incorrect option will yield -1/2 (negative) marks. For any combination of more than one option, the said answers will be treated as incorrect and yield -½ (negative ½) marks.
  • In category 3 one or more options are correct. Marking all correct options only will yield 2 (two) marks. For any combination of answers containing one or more incorrect options, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and it will yield zero (0) marks. For partially correct answers the marks awarded will be 2 X (number of correct options marked) / (total number of actually correct options).

WBJEE 2018 Counseling Summary

  • WBJEE will commence the counseling process from #counseling_date. 
  • The counseling will be off three rounds in total.
  • Candidates have to fill their choices for their branch and institute preference. The registration fee of INR 500 should be paid by candidates. There will be different stages of counseling such as Online Registration, Choice Filling, Seat Allocation, Reporting and Document Verification and Confirmation and Admission.
  • The documents to be submitted during the counseling process are Class X Admit card, WBJEE 2018 Admit Card, Category Certificate, if Applicable, Higher Secondary/Class XII Mark Sheet, Print out of WBJEE 2018/JEE Main 2018 rank from official website, Receipt of Online Counselling Registration Fee (E-challan receipt), WBJEE 2018 Allotment Letter, Domicile Certificate, if Applicable and PWD Certificate, if Applicable.
  • The first round of counseling will be online registration process, declaration of Round 1 seat allotment and Round 1-Physical reporting, document verification initial fee payment, a collection of allotment cards at RC centers and withdrawal of admission.
