Introduction to XAT 2019:

  • About: Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2019 is a National Level MBA Entrance Test conducted by XLRI(Xavier Labour Relations Institute), Jamshedpur for the admission to Post Graduate Management Programmes at over 150 B-Schools in India.
  • Grandiosity: XAT 2019 is one of the oldest competitive examinations in the country that has always kept pace with the cutting edge testing methodology. XAT score is being used by more than 150 institutes for admissions, including the prestigious XLRI and other associated institutes. The Human Resource course in XLRI is considered to be one the best HR courses in Asia.

  • Frequency: The XAT 2019 Exam is conducted once every year. The XAT 2019  Exam is usually conducted in the month of January. More than 100,000 students appear for XAT every year.

  • Subjects: XAT 2019 subjects include Verbal and logical ability, Decision making, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, Essay and General Knowledge.

XAT 2019 Latest News:

  • XAT 2019 results will be announced on the official website. Candidates can check their sectional and overall percentile. Selected candidates will be shortlisted for the next round.
  • XAT 2019 will be a single session exam on January 6, 2019, from 10 AM to 1:30 PM. The exam will be held in 47 XAT test cities across the country and there will be two XAT exam cities abroad namely Kathmandu and Dubai.
  • XAT 2019 MBA Entrance Exam results are expected to release in the fourth week of January.

  • Candidates could apply for the XAT 2019 Exam even after the completion of application deadline(November 31), by paying the late fee.

  • More B- schools have started accepting XAT 2019 score for their admission process.


XAT 2019 Important dates:

  • Application Date: The XAT 2019 application procedure begins on 16th August 2018. The XAT 2019 application form usually releases in the month of August every year. The deadline to complete the XAT 2019 application process is on 30th November 2018 

  • Admit Card: The XAT 2019 admit card will be made available on 20th December 2018. Candidates who have successfully applied for the XAT 2019 can download the Admit card at the official site.

XAT 2019 Eligibility criteria:

  • Age Criteria: There is no age limit for candidates who apply for XAT 2019 Examination.

  • Qualifications: Candidates should have a recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration or equivalent from a recognized authority in any discipline. Final year students who are yet to complete their course can also apply for XAT 2019

XAT 2019 Application Form:

  • Availability: The conducting authority XLRI will release the XAT 2019 application form on 16th August 2018. Eligible candidates must start applying before the deadline in its official login ID. 

  • Process: The candidates are required to enter all the details such as personal details, academic details and upload the scanned copies of the photograph, signature in the XAT 2019 application form. Candidates should also apply to each institute under XAT 2019 and their respective courses

XAT 2019 Examination Pattern:

  • Mode: The XAT 2019 was conducted offline till 2017. XAT 2019 mode of examination is online(Computer based). The number of questions coming in XAT varies every year and isn't fixed.

  • Marking Scheme: Each correct answer fetches 1 mark and ¼mark is deducted for every wrong answer. More than 8 unattempted questions will result in the deduction of 0.05 marks in XAT 2019. After the objective exam, there is another section, consisting of Essay and GK, which spans over 40 minutes. However, there are no negative marks for General Knowledge.

XAT 2019 Admit card:

  • Source: The XAT 2019 admit card usually gets released in December. The candidate can visit the official website of XAT 2019 to download the admit card using their login credentials.

  • Credentials: The admit card should be printed after login, using his/her valid login username and password. A photograph has to be pasted on the admit card and should be produced at the XAT 2019 centres. The admit is taken back by the invigilator after the XAT 2019 gets over.

XAT 2019 Results:

  • Declaration: The Results of XAT 2019 are usually published in the last week of January. XLRI will declare the results for XAT 2019 on 31st January 2019 
  • Credentials: Enter the registration number and date of birth to access the XAT 2019 results. Shortlisted candidates are called for the next process of selection.

XAT 2019 Counselling Process:

  • Procedure: The XAT 2019 counselling session will consist of Group Discussion and Personal Interview. After this, the merit list will be displayed on the website. Based on the merit list and availability of seats, candidates are converted to various programmes under XAT 2019.

  • Documents Required: Shortlisted candidates have to carry all the original documents at the time of counselling. These are crosschecked by the XAT 2019 authorities.

XAT 2019 Important Dates

XAT 2019 important dates summary:

  • Commencement of Online Application: The XAT 2019 application procedure begins on the 16th August 2018.XAT aspirants can start applying to the colleges of their interest. 
  • Last Date of Online Application: The XAT 2019 application procedure will end on the 30th November 2018  without late fee and on 11th December 2019 with the late fee.The XAT 2019 exam fee increases to 2000 Rs from 1650 Rs after the application deadline.
  • Availability of XAT 2019 Admit card: The XAT 2019 Admit card will be made available on 20th December 2018.Students are advised to keep the XAT 2019 admit cards safely as it's mandatory to take them to the XAT centres.
  • XAT 2019 exam date: The XAT 2019 exam will be held on 6th January 2019

  • XAT 2019 scorecard: XAT 2019 scorecard will be mailed on 31st January 2019.

  • XAT 2019 counselling: XAT 2019 counselling will be conducted on 12th February 2019.

XAT 2019 Eligibility

XAT 2019 eligibility summary:

  • Age Bar: There is no age bar for taking the XAT exam.

  • Educational Qualification: The candidate applying for XAT 2019 must fulfil one of the following XAT eligibility criteria,

            A. Completed Bachelor’s degree, or

            B. Completed professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA), or

            C. Should be in the final year of Bachelor’s degree.

  • SC/ST: The candidate must score a minimum of 50% in their graduation. However, there is 5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and Physically Handicapped Classes.

  • NRI candidates: Candidate from NRI and FOREIGN countries need to submit their GMAT scores to eligible admission no need to take XAT examination.

  • Marks: The candidate has to obtain at least 50% marks in their graduation to eligible for XAT 2019 examination.

  • Eligibility: There is separate quota available for reserved candidates(ST/SC/OBC) and even 5% relaxation on marks eligibility.

XAT 2019 Application Process

XAT 2019 application process summary:

  • Candidates who satisfy the Eligibility Criteria must proceed with Application Process on the Website for XAT 2019.

  • XAT Registration ID of last year can also be used if the candidate who satisfies the eligibility are taking XAT for the second time.
  • Visit the official website and click on new registration.

  • Enter all the required details to generate XAT ID and password to log in.

  • After click on submit a provisional XAT ID and password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen and also email is sent to candidates.

  • Enter XAT ID and password to start registration process,

  • Fill all the details like personal details, academic details permanent address and current address.

  • Candidates should pay the requisite fee via Online or Offline modes of payment for XAT 2019.

  • Candidates should print the online confirmation page or receipt for future reference.

XAT 2019 Application Form Details

XAT 2019 Application Form Summary:

  • Application Fee: The application fee is INR 1,600. The cost of application per course is  INR 300. The cost of application with late fee is INR 2,000. The cost of application per course with late fee is INR 500.

  • Mode of payment: The application fee can be paid using net banking, cash, demand draft, debit card or credit card. In case of payment via cash or demand draft, a printout of the pay-in-slip for XAT must be taken and the fee must be remitted to any IDBI bank branch.

  • Even after deadline candidate can apply for XAT 2019 examination with the late fee.

  • XAT 2019 available only online so the candidate has to download it from the official website.

XAT 2019 Admit Card

XAT2019 Admit Card Summary:

  • Candidate needs to visit the official website to download admit card.

  • Enter login details and other required fields and click on submit.

  • Check the admit card, and make sure that everything printed correctly.

  • Download and print out the application form.
  • The admit card must be printed and carried to the exam hall along with a valid ID.

XAT 2019 Exam Pattern

XAT 2019 Examination Pattern Summary:

Mode of exam: The exam will be held in online mode.

  • Number of Questions: There will be around 78 questions of which 26 questions will come for Verbal and Logical Ability, 23 questions will come for decision making, 29 questions will come for Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation,

  • 25 questions will come for General Knowledge and 1 question for an essay.

  • Time duration: The time duration for XAT will be 170 minutes.

  • Marking Scheme: Every correct answer will fetch the candidate 1 mark and there will be negative marking of 1/4 mark for every wrong answer. There will be no negative marking for an essay and general knowledge questions.

  • After this, the merit list will be displayed on the official website.

  • XAT 2019 score is accepted by more than 50 institutes for admission.

For eligibility you have to score above 60% in graduation and then by  showing the score card of any management entrance exam like CMAT, MAT, CAT, XAT  in which the clearing score of  every entrance exam are  different in msrim .For example for CMAT you have to score more than 60% for MSRIM.

I  took CMAT .

In my course i have to score above 60% in graduation and CMAT as well.
