Grandiosity: XAT, one of the oldest competitive examinations in the country, has always kept pace with the cutting edge testing methodology and XAT score is being used by more than 150 institutes for the admission.
Frequency: The XAT 2018 Exam is conducted once every year. The XAT Exam is usually conducted in the month of January. Over 100,000 students appear for XAT every year.
Entrance Test: Xavier Aptitude Test is the MBA entrance exam for admission to XLRI, SPJIMR, IMT, BIMTECH, TAPMI, XIMB among other 130 MBA colleges across the country.
Subjects: Verbal and logical ability, decision making, quantitative ability and data interpretation, human resource management, business management and general knowledge.

XAT 2018 MBA Entrance Exam is expected to release in the third week of January.

XAT exam date: The XAT exam will be held on 7th January 2018
XAT 2018 scorecard will be mailed on 31st January 2018.

Age Bar: There is no age bar for taking the XAT exam.

The candidate must score a minimum of 50% in their graduation. However, there is 5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and Physically Handicapped Classes.
Candidate from NRI and FOREIGN countries need to submit their GMAT scores to eligible admission no need to take XAT examination.

There is separate quota available for reserved candidates and even 5% relaxation on marks eligibility.

After click on submit a provisional XAT ID and password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen and also email is sent to candidates.

Application Fee: The application fee is INR 1,600. The cost of application per course is INR 300. The cost of application with late fee is INR 2,000. The cost of application per course with late fee is INR 500.
Mode of payment: The application fee can be paid using net banking, cash, demand draft, debit card or credit card. In case of payment via cash or demand draft, a printout of the pay-in-slip for XAT must be taken and the fee must be remitted to any IDBI bank branch.
Even after deadline candidate can apply for XAT 2018 examination with the late fee.
XAT 2018 available only online so the candidate has to download it from the official website.

The admit card must be printed and carried to the exam hall along with a valid ID.
Mode of exam: The exam will be held in online mode.
Number of Questions: There will be around 78 questions of which 26 questions will come for Verbal and Logical Ability, 23 questions will come for decision making, 29 questions will come for Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation,
25 questions will come for General Knowledge and 1 question for an essay.
Time duration: The time duration for XAT will be 170 minutes.
Marking Scheme: Every correct answer will fetch the candidate 1 mark and there will be negative marking of 1/4 mark for every wrong answer. There will be no negative marking for an essay and general knowledge questions.

English Syllabus: Contextual usage, Comprehension, Verbal reasoning etc.
General Awareness Syllabus: Current Affairs, General Knowledge, Sports etc.
Decision Making/Analytical Reasoning Syllabus: Verbal analysis, Analogy, Thinking ability etc.
Result Date: The XAT 2018 results will be out on 31st January 2018.

The scorecard must be downloaded and it should be preserved for the admission process.
The XAT counselling session will consist of 3 rounds group discussion, personal interview, and essay writing.
After this, the merit list will be displayed on the official website.
XAT 2018 score is accepted by more than 50 institutes for admission.

How are the candidates selected for the admission in XLRI after XAT 2017 examinations?
The admission to XLRI has been categorised into two stages –
Stage 1– Short-Listing of Candidates: The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in XAT Entrance Examination. XAT score will consist of three sections: Verbal Ability, Decision Making and Quantitative Aptitude. General knowledge and Essay Writing marks will be included in Stage 2 of the selection process.
Stage 2– Final Selection: Most of the B-schools follow Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds for the final selection process. Once these rounds are completed, the total score is calculated on the basis of XAT 2017 score, GD, PI, Essay Writing, General Knowledge, past Academic records, work experience (if any), and overall profile. On the basis of these scores, merit list is prepared and the admissions are offered.
The XAT exam pattern 2017 consists of five following sections –
The marks of GK and Essay writing will not be used for determining the percentile and cut off at first stage of selection.
What is the fee to be paid for the form? And in which modes the payment can be done in XAT 2017?
It is mandatory to pay an application fee. XLRI has increased the number of fees. The application form will not process further without the payment of fees. The amount of application is as follows:

Candidates need to get the application form online to register themselves for XAT 2017. Applicants must check the XAT important dates 2017. Aspirants can register for the test till November 30, 2016 (without late fee).
However, one can also apply till December 11, 2016 (with late fee). The form will be generated online only after XAT Login ID and Password will be allotted to the candidate. While registering for the test, candidates are required to pay an application fee.
